Question on upgrading to new Shaker Motor

Hey Zebs,

I have your VIO PacLed64 kit and am still loving it!

I had to move your windshield wiper / shaker motor assembly to a different location. I can barely feel the shaker motor now as it's too week.

I'd like to install a real pinball shaker motor such as the ones found here: https://www.pinballlife.com/search.html ... er%20motor

My question's are as follows:

1. WHich one would be an easy drop in replacement that would be the most powerful shaker motor I could get?
2. How would I wire the replacement with the VIO Kit? Would I just hook it up to that little breakout board that is already attached to the current shaker motor?

BTW, I'm posting to the EZ Install kit forum as there doesn't seem to be a forum for the older products to post to anymore (they are locked).

Thanks!

Matt

I'd go with the cheapest available option since they are all the same anyway. Looks like the Stern SPIKE motor is the cheapest at $79

Just connect the positive and negative wires on the existing motor to the positive and negative on the replacement. You'll probably be extending the existing wires.

Be sure to observe the polarity on any diode on the new motor.
